40 days of worship underway

About 80 people gathered at the Steenbras Dam lookout point last Sunday evening to worship God and declare His sovereignty over the Cape and South Africa, reports Libby Norton from one of the mountain-top worship events around Cape Town that launched the 40 days of worship campaign from September 20 to November 3.

Flags flew in a chilly breeze as the sound of the shofar echoed off the mountains to the sea below and on to Cape Town in a magnificent sunset.

The 40 Days of Worship organising team will coordinate a few worship events, but the majority of the events should be spontaneous and from the heart of the body. People can log onto the website and see what events are published for that day and join the closest worship event. No event should charge any admission fee or promote their ministry, or church.

The 40 Days of Worship organising team are encouraging participants to log their event on the  www.global-worship.com calendar to share with others. Everybody is free to worship in any way they feel led. They can log their event on the website events calendar and create Facebook events.

  1. This call to worship has been so exciting. Here in Hout Bay we have met on the mountain, worshipped in the Caltex Garage, celebrated on the beach and prayed together in various places. It has stirred something that has brought greater unity and allowed the young people to lead in worship and prayer. They seem to just love the freedom of worshiping their God “out There”. It has been wonderful and of course there is more to come. Spontaneous worship is wonderful and may we not stop!
