South African recording artist and worship leader, Neville Diedericks (Neville D), has been nominated for a Grammy for recent Dove Award winning song, “How Awesome Is Our God’, which he co-penned with international Gospel star, Israel Houghton.

Nominations for the 58th Grammy Awards were announced on December 7, 2015 but it came as no surprise to Diedericks who knew that they were in the running, after nabbing the coveted Dove Awards in 2015 for Traditional Gospel Song of the Year, as reported by Gateway News. “I knew I was submitted but when Israel called to say we’ve been nominated, the feeling was unbelievable!” the humble artist explained. “It’s truly amazing!”

The song is in the running for the Best Gospel Performance/Song of the year and will face stiff competition against the likes of Kirk Franklin, Anthony Brown, Travis Greene and Aaron Lindsey. “I am trying not to think about it too much,” Diedericks shared.” I am living in the moment!”

The Cape Town based singer/songwriter will be travelling to the United States for the awards and describes it as an opportunity that he cannot miss. “I am definitely going up! We have to do this!”

The 58th Grammy Awards ceremony will be held on Monday, February 15th 2016 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. The awards ceremony will be broadcasted live by the CBS network. The ceremony will also be streamed live on the internet for the first time.
