Countdown to the ‘biggest prayer gathering in South Africa’s history’

itstimesaThe organisers of the It’s Time event, expected to be the biggest prayer event ever to be held in South Africa, has launched a traffic plan to effectively manage the hundreds of thousands of cars and buses expected to travel to Bloemfontein on Saturday April 22.

Thousands of South Africans from across the country have already indicated that they are travelling to the Free State to attend this National Day of Prayer, to be held on the farm Wilde Als, four kilometres outside of Bloemfontein.

On social media, the initiative has attracted massive reaction. During the past seven days, posts on social media platforms, had a reach of 24 million people. In the first seven days of the campaign, the reach was 18 million.

Shortly after farmer evangelist Angus Buchan made the announcement about the event, 17 farmers came forward and made their land available to be used for the prayer day. People are asked to bring their own food and water. They can also camp on various farms close to the venue.

2 000 hectares of land have already been prepared for the influx of people. 25 tractors baled 100 hectares a day. 450 hectares have been baled into 2 000 bales for people to sit on. People are asked to bring their own chairs with.)

To help with traffic flow, people must book a parking ticket, at no cost, on www.itickets.co.za. Different parking areas are allocated to the various routes leading into Bloemfontein. There are 10 access routes to the farms – two for travellers from Gauteng, one each for the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and Bloemfontein, three for the Western Cape, and two routes for motorists travelling from the Northern Cape. Motorists from the different provinces are asked to only travel on the routes as indicated for their province. This will help for traffic to be better managed.

Many miracles
Many miracles have happened since operations were started to prepare the land at the It’s Time venue. At one stage a group of farmers donated 800 litres of diesel for the tractors used to cut the grass. Amazingly the diesel only ran out after the last of the 20 tractors, taking 60 litres each, was filled.

After a meeting where the need for toilet paper was discussed and prayed for, one of the team members received a phone call as they stepped out of the meeting by somebody wanting to donate 30 000 toilet rolls, the exact number that was needed.

Five thousand volunteers, mostly young people and students, have offered to help with the sick and infirm, as well as the elderly, who would need assistance.

The medical services needed at the event, including doctors, paramedics, nurses and ambulances, were budgeted at R3 million, but local doctors from Bloemfontein are offering their services for free.

The vision for the event was born after Buchan received a video from a concerned citizen calling on him as a Christian leader to get Christians together in one place and pray to God to save the nation. God gave Buchan two words – “It’s Time” and “One Million”.

Buchan says it is imperative that people come to the It’s Time event to pray for justice, peace and hope in South Africa.

“It is not good enough to just go to your house and pray with your family. We need to come together as a nation and we need to seek the Lord together. God is calling us to draw a line in the sand and say devil no further than this. He answers prayer.”

It’s Time is for all South-Africans of all races and irrespective of political affiliation that stand for justice, peace & hope in South-Africa.

Praise the Lord. He is busy changing South Africa.

  2. Greetings to each and everyone. All in the Mighty and Powerful name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

    Piperjames here from London.

I have just read the above article, regarding the up and coming gathering in Bloemfontein, and which will bring up to a Million plus people together, to pray to God, for forgiveness and guidance for the nation of South Africa and her peoples.

No doubt the prayers offered on that day, will also be extended to other nations and other peoples, including most importantly of all, fellow Christian Brothers and Sisters who have been and continue to be persecuted in the world today.

Persecuted because of their faith and love for Jesus Christ.

Further along in the above article that I read, and now write in reply to herein about, I read the following and which is said to have come from Uncle Angus Buchan:

“It is not good enough to just go to your house and pray with your family. We need to come together as a nation and we need to seek the Lord together. God is calling us to draw a line in the sand and say devil no further than this. He answers prayer.”

I am involved with Mighty Men in the Western Cape. I head up the Public Relations there. The team works tirelessly to help men and their families and all in line with Scripture as best we possibly can.

I have no doubt to question this article, for I know that Gateway reports honestly on their chosen subjects.

So saying that, and if this statement is correct as being quoted from Uncle Angus, then I am afraid that it simply is not a good statement to have been made?

Especially from someone as ‘Highly Regarded’ as Uncle Angus.

I know Uncle Angus is passionate, but be rest assured my fellow Brothers and Sisters, whether you be saved as yet or not, you DO NOT have to attend and or wait to pray at an event such as that which is fast approaching in Bloemfontein.

    Please read it again….Quote..

“It is not good enough to just go to your house and pray with your family. We need to come together as a nation and we need to seek the Lord together. God is calling us to draw a line in the sand and say devil no further than this. He answers prayer.”

Again said with passion I am sure by Uncle Angus, but the Word of God will always supersede every word that man might speak, and on this occasion, in this regard even Uncle Angus falls short.

Now, no one is suggesting that Angus is a Hypocrite, as it states in the Bible herein.

I along with the whole team in the Western Cape supports the Vision and the Mandate that Angus tells us God gave to him and which birthed the Mighty Men here in South Africa and which has a huge global reach too, but please read and digest the following.

    King James Version (KJV)

    Matthew 6:5-15

    5
And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

It goes on to say in Matthew 6.6 the following:

    6
But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

    Seven continues….

    7
But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

And even more in verse eight…..

    8
Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

    And into verse nine…..

    9
After this manner therefore pray ye:

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

    10
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

    11
Give us this day our daily bread.

    12
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

    13
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

    Continuing into verse fourteen…

    14
For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

    Then into Fifteen…

    15
But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Therefore and now that sound Biblical verse has been taken in, what I am trying to say here and according to Scripture is that no matter who you are, Angus or not, (and I love him just as much as the next sincere Brother and or Sister does) no one, I repeat no one tells you that it is not good enough to go and pray at home but be somewhere else.

Be that on your own, or with family you should be praying there at home too.

You should be praying every single day.

Praying so that your prayers are sent upward to the heavenliest realms, so as to help fortify the arsenal of the true and faithful ‘Waring Angles’ that are fighting for God, Christendom and for you / me / us all.

Again do not mistake me as being anything un-loyal herein. Far from it. But when something like this is reported to have been said, we need direction on the Word of God!

I am simply pointing out that you can pray where you want and when you want. You do not have to gather at a place at the word of another, especially when it goes against the grain of what the True Word of God is saying.

Love and peace be among you all as we support each other in the Unity and Faith of what is the Body of Christ.

Done so, so that all is prepared for the imminent arrival of our first love, Jesus Christ.

    Amen!

  3. If every Christian in SA will submit to II Chron 7: 13-15 today, and mean it, then surely God will answer. We are the problem with our fleshly indulgence in the things of the world, Satan’s domain. I agree with Piperjames. We must stop dodging the Cross, and follow Christ in “not My will but Thine be done” (Mt 26:39), every day. “I die Daily” (I Cor 15:31). “Oh God, have mercy on us Christians, and open our eyes to the real problem of SA.” Thanks.

  4. Forgive my non highly spiritual nor Scriptural comment.

But if i was God and a million of my kids make such an effort to come to me, it would blow my mind!

It’s like when people remember your birthday and you get all these nice birthday wishes messages from all over on that day. That is nice because they remembered!

BUT; if all your birthday wishes family and friends would get together from all over and organize you a huge birthday bash – and you see how much effort they made to get there, putting their own lives aside JUST for you for that day!

    Wow!

That will be a very special event to everyone which surely no one will ever forget!

  5. I am in agreement with Uncle Angus who, I believe, was trying to express the urgency of the time as well as to encourage oneness in the sense of Acts 2:1 that “they were all with one accord in one place”.

I believe it is important for those of us who are able and who have the desire, to gather together “with one accord in one place” at one time as one body and to humble ourselves gratefully in worship and prayer before the Lord.

It is clear that many of our brothers and sisters in Christ will not be able to attend the “It’s Time” National Day of prayer. Indeed, we will have them in mind and will be interceding not only on their behalf, but the entire country.

The importance of standing “firm in one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel” (Philippians 1:27) is repeated over and over In different ways in God’s Word including: 2 Chronicles 5:13; 2 Chronicles 30:12; Psalm 133:1; Jeremiah 32:39; Romans 15:6; and Philippians 2:2-4.

In short, I am sure Uncle Angus meant by his words to promote oneness in Christ and the last thing we need is division, because of doubt.

After all, the event is all about our Saviour Jesus Christ and coming together as one in Him, in spirit and body.

    Blessings,

    Alf.

For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Mat 18:20

  7. Obviously not all of us can attend ‘It’s Time’ but, it is important that as many Christian believers as possible attend, so that this gathering is a show of oneness to the World, for the glory of God. Those of us who cannot be there in body, will still be there in spirit and prayer.
