A monthly column for young ladies by Kate Fitz-Gibbon

On Youth Day I had the privilege of joining and ministering to an incredible group of young people, from 5 years old up to early 20’s in Ekangala near Bronkhorstspruit.

People are hungry for more of God, and there are so many humble dedicated men and women of God who want to link arms with others to see change and transformation come.

We gathered together to celebrate God and the hunger for Him was so present. There is an army being raised up of all ages, and from the youngest to the oldest God is calling us. I had felt before that this particular army God is raising is of warriors, not soldiers and captains. Many were prophesied over and came up afterwards wanting a prophetic word and really pressing into what God had for them.

The next day I was in the town of Botlokwa which is between Louis Trichardt and Polokwane. There were around 30 kids in the meeting, and even though it was supposed to be an adults’ conference, it was clear God was doing something for the kids.

When my dad did a call for salvation, almost all of the children came forward and received Jesus. Then, when he called for people to be filled with the Holy Spirit, all the children were up there in full force. The Holy Spirit came in the meetings and there were many healings.

We spoke on being empowered into changing your community and they really seemed to catch it.

People are hungry for more of God
What I’ve seen is that God is moving across South Africa. My family and I have been touring parts of the country for over a year and going to communities, townships and villages to bring the life of the Holy Spirit. People are hungry for more of God, and there are so many humble dedicated men and women of God who want to link arms with others to see change and transformation come.

You are always going to have a choice whether to spend your time observing the game of thrones going on in the country, or get involved on the ground and be part of the change that is so desperately needed.

The pastor and his wife in Botlokwa feed 100 children every day out of their own pocket, because if they don’t feed the children they will only have one meal at school. They don’t know how they do it but somehow they make it work every day. That’s faith, and that is the calibre of fathers and mothers we have in this nation, who are longing to connect with others and join hands in advancing the kingdom.

In another community near Pretoria North, a pastor is building a centre with the help of Godly investors to give children a place to go after school so that they do not get abused and raped in their own homes in the afternoons.

You are always going to have a choice whether to spend your time observing the game of thrones going on in the country, or get involved on the ground and be part of the change that is so desperately needed. When our nation encounters the love of God, that is when true, lasting change will come.

The church’s calling for this hour
There is so much work to do, so many communities who would welcome someone coming to walk alongside them and love their people. You don’t have to go preach at people, but bring the goodness you have and honour others. Many of you may say, oh it’s not my calling. Well I didn’t think it was mine, until I went and realised that we have to join together, this is the church’s calling for this hour in SA.

South Africa needs to be flooded with the love of God, the healing power of Jesus and the freedom of the cross.

Do you really want to sit week in and week out being comfortable in your church seat while your country needs what you carry? Are you waiting for formal ministry to take off and to be invited to speak in a nice plushy church? South Africa needs to be flooded with the love of God, the healing power of Jesus and the freedom of the cross. People everywhere need to hear and experience the truth that they have a Father in heaven who loves them unconditionally. It is His love and the presence of the Holy Spirit that breaks the yoke of bondage.

This is how we stand together, every tribe and every tongue. A rally is good, but I tell you, the blind receiving their sight and communities being raised up with renewed minds, hearts and hope is even better. When we demonstrate kingdom life in a community, and each person has their daily needs met by God, we are showing that He is our provider.

Do you want to prophesy over the same people in your home group every week, giving sweet encouraging words when there are people who have never received a prophetic word over their life and the survival of their family depends on it?

We are meant to go
We have to change what we call the church nowadays. We are meant to go reach the downtrodden, the disappointed and heartbroken.

The work right now, is about transformation, and not just salvation. We desperately need salvation, but we also need transformation from the inner depth of each person’s being.

I used to think making it in ministry meant being invited to other countries to speak, which is crazy when right now we are at a critical time in our nation, and those who invest in this country will see a great harvest.

This is what I want to say. The work right now, is about transformation, and not just salvation. We desperately need salvation, but we also need transformation from the inner depth of each person’s being. To see God through the eyes of revelation and have His revelation and truth revealed in our hearts. Then to build kingdom initiatives in communities so that there is every level of transformation that truly makes people’s lives better.

I believe that from the young people to older people we all have something to contribute.

You will not be left destitute by pouring love into this nation.

The doors are open if you ask the God of harvest to open them for you.

Let’s connect heart to heart with each other and join in rebuilding the walls.

  1. Thank you Kate for this truth. This message is so important in a time like this in South Africa. So many people are suffering but most people in the church are fast asleep. We can all become obedient and start reaching out. Please see The Last Reformation on Youtube on how it should be done. It is an eye opener.

Kate you are a beautiful example to all of us. Go girl.

  2. Yes Kobus, you are quite right; It’s About Time for a wake-up call!
