A “Love of my Life” event — to encourage, equip and rejuvenate pregnant women — is taking place at the Unicorn Café and Salon at the Walker Drive Shopping Centre, Port Elizabeth from 9am to 12pm on Thursday February 28.
“Pregnancy is a beautiful time in a woman’s life but it can also be a lonely and overwhelming road, as your entire mental and spiritual capacity is channelled towards this new being,” says Shanelle White of the Unicorn Café.
The event will be geared towards giving pregnant women a moment for themselves, bringing together a community of women who can support each other on the journey, and equipping women with practical advice to maximise their pregnancy experience — even into motherhood.
Speakers of the day will include a midwife, physiotherapist, beautician and a motivational speaker.
The organisers are also calling on women to sponsor tickets to the event for women from disadvantaged areas of the city that don’t have ready access to professional advice.
Tickets cost R250 and include food and drink, gift bags and transportation to and from the event.
