Fifth UP4SA national prayer day for nation on Sunday

Hundreds of towns and cities across South Africa are uniting during the fifth, annual, UP4SA national prayer day for the nation on Sunday March 1 from 11am to 2pm.

“We trust the Lord for an even greater united effort in 2020…2020 brings new Hope for all believers in Jesus Christ and we are going to build altars (signs) for the Lord in our towns and community areas,” say the organisers on the UP4SA website.

The national prayer day is endorsed by Jericho Walls International Prayer Network and IFSA (Intercessors Forum of SA) which represents about 40 prayer networks across SA.

Participants in the prayer day are encouraged to bring a stone picked up in their neighbourhood to a meeting place in their town which will then form part of a new altar or be added to an existing altar. Participants are asked to write a Scripture or the name of Jesus on their stones, together with their home area.

The altars will symbolise:

– Unity – Psalm 133:1-3
– Jesus the Cornerstone of our community and nation – Eph. 2:19-22
– Body of Christ as living stones – 1 Pet 2:5
– Thanksgiving for past deliverance and trust for future deliverance – Joshua 4:8
– The restoration of a spiritual reverence and honour to God as the only Father of our Lord Jesus Christ our Saviour – 1 Kings 18:30
