Cornerstone Church Bedfordview, in Morning Hill, Johannesburg, hosts the annual Kaleidoscope Women’s Conference, and it is attended by women from all over the country.

Women come together, away from their home environment and families, in friendship, fellowship and worship, to hear the invaluable messages and testimonies from the panel of speakers. Every year women are empowered with the Word, and filled with the Holy Spirit, and they leave armed to face the trials of everyday life, and 2016 was no different.

‘It is well with my soul’’, filled the auditorium, as over 400 women worshipped the Lord along with Cornerstone’s ever amazing and dedicated worship team. It is said, that even those of us that do not sing like angels, have the ‘voices of angels’ in the Lords ears, and I have no doubt that He was well pleased.

May the God of hope fill me with all joy and peace as I trust in Him, so that I may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

Kaleidoscope 2016 brought hope, healing, encouragement and a deeper understanding of the word Joy, as well as bursts of laughter with Sue Jameson, Joy Activist and founder of JOYburg. She imparted messages of grace, love, forgiveness, dreams and identity, as well as the critical importance of our thinking and what we say, noting that ‘Saying is believing!’

Jameson spoke on the transforming power of Joy and Laughter – for spirit, soul and body, and encouraged the ladies to let their lights shine. She pointed out that smiling and laughter, in particular, releases endorphins that not only are a natural pain killer, but are also our ‘happy juice’… just what we need in our daily, joy-filled walk.

“How great is the love that He has lavished on us that we should be called His Children of God! And that is what we are!” John 3.1

On Friday evening Verashni Pillay, editor-in-chief of the Mail & Guardian newspaper shared her incredible journey with God, in her personal life and in business, proving that trusting God, along with unfaltering faith, and hard work, will help you to achieve great things. Pillay, emphasised the importance of work in God’s Kingdom, and that no matter how great or small our work is, in our own eyes, each job has equal value in the eyes of the Lord.

Ruth Wimble, church employee and qualified dietician, had many women in tears as she shared her heart-wrenching life story with us, with the ultimate message that through pain, and loss, one can bring encouragement and Joy to many others. Wimble’s message is one of hope and reassurance, for those women who are feeling desperation.

Kaleidoscope is a time of Joy, no matter the theme, and God’s word is encouraged throughout, as women come together in celebration of Jesus. This annual event, brings change and hope and every year, there is deliverance.
