Marriage and ancestors in focus at PE youth seminar

ybtgseminarWhat does the Bible say about marriage and about the veneration of ancestors? Youth from all walks of life are invited to a seminar in Motherwell, Port Elizabeth, from Friday July 31 to Saturday August 1, where these “controversial topics” will be put under the microscope says Youth Back To God Movement (YBGM) co-founder, Pastor Fikile Mabhula.

“We firmly believe that the Word of God is a rule, canon, measuring rod and a yardstick to any worldview and any culture, precisely (African) worldview. That means our identity when one is born again is on the basis of the word of God not on Africanism,” says Mabhula.

Pastor S Kiti will speak on Facts and Realities of Marriage, addressing questions and issues such as: What is marriage? What is the fundamental difference between a wedding day and a life of marriage? Different types of weddings, and Are homosexual marraiges Biblical.

Elder W B Luncuzo will tackle the topic of Christianity and the Veneration of Ancestors addressing: What is the difference between African traditional religion (ATR) and Christianity? Are we as Christians suppose to consult the dead? If yes, why? If no, why? Can the living connect with the dead, spiritually?

YBTGM is a non denominational movement that works together with churches, youth organisations and community groups to challenge moral degeneration and inspire and empower young people to become better future mothers, fathers, husbands, wives and leaders through Jesus Christ.

The seminar will be at NU2 Motherwell Hall from 16:00 to 20:00 on July 31 and from 14:00 to 18:00 on August 1. More information is available from Mrs S Mabhula at 074 539 5416 or by emailing youthbacktogodm@gmail.com or mabhulasolethu@yahoo.co.za.
