Mark Wilson.

Mystery surrounds the death of Mark Wilson, a Cape Town man whose body was found by police in a Dar es Salaam graveyard after he went missing while on an overland missionary trip to Israel.

According to a friend Wilson began his journey in Cape Town shortly before Christmas. He intended to travel through Africa to Israel, praying and ministering along the way. The mission was linked with a vision of Pastor Baruch Maayan from Israel in 2010 to ultimately see simple home churches established on the spiritual highway from the Cape to Jerusalem in fulfilment of  prophecy recorded in Isaiah 19.

Wilson reported faithfully of his whereabouts until his arrival in Dar es Salaam by train from Zambia after a journey that took over 50 hours. In his last communication on Thursday, January 7, he stated that he was very tired, needing a shower and a good sleep. His body was found in a graveyard, with no personal belongings except for his passport. He had no visible injuries.

Mark was passionate about God, had a love for people and dedicated his life to God and ministry. God used him powerfully in the healing ministry, touching many lives.

Two funeral/memorial services will be held: one in Parow and the other in Pinelands. The memorial service in Parow will be on  January 31, from 16h00 to 18h00. The second memorial service, which will be organised by his family, will be at St Stephens Church, Pinelands on Thursday, February 5.

  3. What is the time of the other service in Pinelands during the week? Or the details for that service?
    Thanks Louise

  4. Mark dearly loved the Lord and served Him faithfully. He spent almost a week in the Mumena chiefdom, reasoning from the scriptures and praying for the sick- my wife included. He preached in our small village congregation on the subject of FAITH on January 4,2015. He then left Solwezi on January 5 by bus for Kapirimposhi to board the Dar es Salaam bound train on January 6. He last got in touch with us on January 7. The congregants Mark ministered to have been informed of his demise. We miss him.
