On Saturday December 9 Open Doors is hosting a prayer event in New York, ahead of its One Million Voices of Hope petition presentation to the United Nations in support of securing protection for the people of Syria and Iraq.
“Although this event is in New York, we are calling on friends like you everywhere, to stand with us in prayer on the 9th, and during the following week of the petition presentation. You can pray by yourself or organise a prayer event where you are, ask for prayer on your social media, or via email, and help mobilise the Body of Christ to stand with us,” says Open Doors SA in an email message to Christians.
“The petition itself will be presented at several high-level meetings at the UN on December 11 and 12. Please pray that as we present the case of our persecuted brothers and sisters in the Middle East, it will be received with favour.
“Pray for our team as they act as a voice on behalf of our Middle Eastern family. Pray for a favourable outcome so that our brothers and sisters can safely return to their homelands. May God open the hearts of those who have the power to make the necessary changes to ensure our brothers and sisters have a place to call home again,” says Open Doors.
