Every year we lose more pre-born babies to abortion than the combined death toll of crime and car accidents. Since February 1 1997, over 1 600 000 babies have been killed in South Africa — by abortion — with taxpayers’ money.
February 1 2019 will mark the 22nd anniversary of the legalisation of abortion on demand in South Africa. For this reason, Christians who respect the sanctity of life will be observing Thursday January 31 as a day of prayer and repentance for the national sin of abortion.
On January 31 Africa Christian Action will hold a prayer rally outside the gates of parliament (at the corner of Roeland and Plein Streets) from 1pm to 1.30pm. A short memorial service and wreath-laying ceremony will be held in memory of the babies killed by abortion in South Africa since 1997.
The rally will be preceded by a march for life – in the form of a funeral procession to parliament. The procession will gather at the Keizersgracht parking lot below Cape Peninsula University of Technology (and near to the wall painting of an African woman) and march down Darling Street, left into Adderley Street, left into Spin Street, then into Plein Street to assemble outside the gates of parliament. Meet in Keizersgracht Street by 12.30pm. Please dress in black.
