Tim Hughes, Mike Pilavachi at live album recording at LIV Village

LIV recording

Two thousand worshipers will gather on April 8 2017 in Cottonlands, KwaZulu-Natal, for Live at LIV led by Worship Central singer/songwriter Tim Hughes (UK), Soul Survivor founder Mike Pilavachi (UK) and the LIV Village Choir.

The reason for the event, which is open to the public, is to gather worshipers to revel in a night of worship in an anointed and incredibly beautiful setting, and to capture the sights and sounds from the evening for a live CD/DVD recording, Worship Central says in a press release.

Author and Pastor, Mike Pilavachi will deliver a relevant and impacting message that too will be captured on DVD, says the press release. Pilavachi’s heart has always been to reach, disciple, equip and empower young people to make a difference in their generation.

The purpose behind LIV Village
LIV Village was founded in 2008 by well-known South African Sportsman, Tich Smith and his wife Joan. The couple were called to focus on a solution to aid the crisis of orphaned and vulnerable children in South Africa. Their motto being; Rescue a child, Restore a life, Raise a leader, and Release a star.

“We place these children into a family environment with a trained foster mother to love them, a school to educate them, where all their needs are met. If these children are equipped with essential moral values and life skills, they will grow up to be a generation that will influence positive change within South Africa, Africa and the world.”, Tich says.

“We are convinced that the Church is the answer and has the resources and skills to make the difference. No longer can we sit in our church buildings and not hear the cry of the Father’s Heart for the fatherless. We are the Church. We have the Father Heart of God within us. Together, in partnership with business and government, we can do it.” Joan Smith adds.

The story of LIV Village has been documented in the couple’s book titled, When Grace Showed Up. It takes the reader on the journey of a star who loses it all to alcohol and a wife who loses her husband. From rock bottom, grace showed up and inspired these two middle-class South Africans to move past the racial prejudices of the apartheid era and launch a ministry together.

Portion of funds go to LIV
Worship Central who have been vested in this project from its inception and a portion of the funds raised from the album sales will go towards the LIV model. It’s long term cluster foster care, where the children have a sense of belonging in a homely environment, modelling an African village lifestyle. “The future plan is to see many villages across our nation, raising future leaders, and turning scars into stars by providing a fresh start in a supportive community”, Tich says.

The live recording event is open to the public and tickets are available from iTickets.co.za. Gates open at 3pm. More than 400 volunteers from local churches, LIV Village and Soul Survivor will be on hand to coordinate parking and ensure safety and organisation, as well as food stalls and refreshment vendors.

“We are bursting with belief, stirred by the cause and excited to worship together” says Mark Counihan of Worship Central South Africa.
