Womb Stewardship holding youth prayer event

On June 17 purity movement Womb Stewardship will host its first Youth Prayer event at the Feathermarket Hall, Port Elizabeth, from 10am to 4pm.

Entrance is free but booking is essential as space is limited. The theme is “Pass The Baton” and is geared at getting this generation to think about what they will leave behind for the next generation to glean.

Africa’s first female dredge master Londy Ngcobo, artist and speaker Pastor Anthony Noble, and psychologist Ziyanda Mavumengwana are pegged as speakers on the day. Entertainment will include live music performances from gifted Eastern Cape musical groups Universal and Resound.

Womb Stewardship founder Dr Pinky Ngcakani-Ncula believes that our youngsters should be encouraged, affirmed and prayed-for to be the best possible version of themselves.

Platforms such as this event create a basis to network with like-minded individuals which can ultimately bear good fruit.

“As a community, we should work towards unifying our voice in what we say at home, in school, in church, at work and other spheres of society to impressionable minds,” says Ngcakani-Ncula. “We cannot be passive and expect change.”

Issues which will be addressed at the prayer event include pregnancy and abortion. Such experiences can often leave young girls despondent. The conversation is taboo yet the effects can be devastating for the womb.

Womb Stewardship’s mission is to enlighten young girls to make the right choices. Whatever the circumstance, there is still a way forward and they should not give up, says Ngcakani-Ncula.

Expected outcomes for the event are for attendees to be inspired to implement what they have learnt in their respective spaces. Teachers, adults, parents and community leaders will be urged to join hands with youth in ensuring a healthy legacy of moral regeneration, identity as well as living a full, bountiful life.
