Kyle Driver shares YTA’s vision at a stadium meeting in Cape Town on Saturday.

Youth Transformation Africa (YTA) hosted a pastors and leaders meeting at Athlone Stadium, Cape Town on Saturday (24 November 2016) to pave the way for a strategic youth and church event — #YTAUnite — at the stadium on April 17 2017.

Kyle Driver, the visionary of the 2017  event said it will be used to unite and transform the City of Cape Town by drawing young people from across the city and sharing the good news of Jesus Christ with them.

“Our purpose is to create opportunities for those who wish to commit their lives to Christ, and for those who wish to renew their commitment to Christ at this event in 2017,” he said.

Driver spoke of the servant heart and obedience to God’s call required to organise an event of this magnitude. It was not about being honoured by men but about being obedient to God’s instruction, he said.

He spoke of the current scourge of violence in the area and said that the solution was to present young people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Fathers of the city, Pastors Barry Isaacs, Alan Lamb, Peter Long joined other Christian leaders and representatives of Radio Tygerberg and Western Cape Mighty Men who turned out insupport of YTA.

The keynote speaker was Pastor Alan Lamb who spoke of his journey in the ministry for the past 58 years. In a message of encouragement to  young pastors he said that at the age of 81 has fond memories of serving the Lord as a young pastor. He said it was now up to this generation to continue with the work of the Lord of carrying our the Great Commission and saving souls for the Kingdom.

Driver appealed to all churches, from all backgrounds, to come together in unity and claim the city of Cape Town for Jesus and to also partner in any way with YTA to ensure a successful gathering in 2017. He said he was expecting a harvest from the 23000 people who would fill the stadium.

The next pastors and leaders meeting will be in January 2017
