Christian pop rock band, Newsboys, start their “God’s not dead” SA tour in July

Christian pop rock band, the Newsboys, will be touring South Africa at the end of July, bringing their “God’s not dead” concert to the cities of Cape Town, Pretoria and Johannesburg. The iconic ensemble will be at the Grand West Arena in Cape Town on July 29, 2015. Pretoria will host them at CRC on July 31 and they will be performing in Johannesburg at Rhema Church on August 1, 2015.

The tour will feature songs from their 15th studio album which was released in 2011. The album, which is their second offering with lead Michael Tait, features renowned Christian musicians such as Jason Ingram, Reuben Morgan and Ben Cantelon. 

Well known for hits such as “He Reigns”, “Born Again” and their recent 15 week chart topper “We Believe’ , the Newsboys has shown their resilience in the ever changing world of Contemporary Christian music and has always strived to be an industry leader. Since arriving on the scene in 1985 they’ve sold more  than 8 million units in career sales, garnering 6 gold albums and multiple Grammy and American Music Award nominations.

The pop rock band was founded in Mooloolaba Queensland, Australia by Peter Furler and George Perdikis. Former DC talk member, Michael Tait, joined later on featuring as lead singer for the first time in the 2010 release, ‘Born Again’. Other members of the band are Jeff Frankenstein on keyboard and bass guitar, guitarist Jody Davis, and drummer and percussionist Duncan Phillips.
