Destiny-changing Godly Revolution relaunching on June 17

Godly Revolution, an event that unites the youth of South Africa with the goal of praise and worship, leadership development and evangelism is relaunching on Friday June 17.

From 2002 to 2010 nearly 10 000 youth attended each event, affecting nearly a million young lives in the span of less than a decade.

Many hearts were touched, young people turned away from sin and destruction and found a firm foundation in Christ and serve God to this day, as a result of this festival. Some of the young people who attended Godly Revolution in those years are now youth leaders, missionaries, and influencers who are ready to lead the next generation and plough back into God’s Kingdom.

For the past 12 years, this prestigious event has been dormant due to a lack of funding. The influencers of youth groups and leadership of large churches in and around Gauteng have recently felt the call of God to do something very big and meaningful for the young people around Youth Day.

The climate is ready for a new series of Godly Revolution events, says Erich Posthumus of the team which plans to present Godly Revolution 2022 on a smaller scale at regional level.

Churches and organisations that have pledged their support and commitment include: Moreleta Park Church Congregation, Choose Life Church, Doxa Deo (Pretoria Branches), Tree (Doxa Deo School Ministry), VCSV (UCSA), Living Word, Target Life Gap Year, Metamorpho Gap Year, #Imagine, Operation Mobilization, LPE Next Gen and various intercession / prayer groups.

“The combined influence of these groups alone amounts to tens of thousands of young people who can be mobilised to attend this epic, life-changing event,” say the organisers (Radio Pulpit, I Am Youth, and Good News Factory) . “There are also many young adults who would like to relive this unforgettable event out of sentiment or nostalgia. So, we have a lot of support from people who are excited about the matter and cannot wait for the next Godly Revolution.”

Keep the date
So, keep the date, the evening of June 17 — at Choose Life Church in Moreleta Park, Pretoria! Ticket cost will be R150 per person and R600 for a family ticket of 6 (Buy four and get two for free).

The format of the festival will be a bit shorter than previously, with a good mix between old and new artists. The focus is very strongly on worship this year. There will still be testimonies by celebrities, community building initiatives and prayer and counseling.

C Jay will also be in the mix

“We also aim to present a leadership training session this year for all young youth leaders from Gauteng and surrounding areas. This year we are going to rely heavily on technology to sell our tickets online through Quicket (an online ticket selling platform) plus we have access to social media marketers and promoters to help us sell tickets. We currently have a big challenge with Covid 19 regulations and numbers that are limited to 1000 unvaccinated people per venue or maybe later can relax to about 3 000 people.

“Once all the tickets are sold out, we will start looking at church hubs that can stream the festival live to their venues. Arranging this event is a very big step of faith. We need all the prayer and support possible.”

Prayer: We trust God to give us favour as He has done in the past and to provide us with the right role players, artists, leaders, finances, and skilled workers to expand His Kingdom in these present circumstances. All things through Him, through Him and to His glory.”
