Parties involved in a High Court application by the ACDP against the government’s rollout of Covid-19 vaccinations to children between the ages of 12 and 17 have agreed to timelines for filing papers, says ACDP national executive committee member and attorney Bongani Luthuli in a media statement.
He says the agreement was reached during a meeting of all the parties with the Deputy Judge President on Monday following the postponement of the hearing on November 12 after the ACDP objected to a late filing by the Minister of Health which did not afford the party adequate time to respond.
The parties challenging the govenment’s teen vaccination rollout must file their application by Monday November 29 and those opposing the application must flle their papers of opposition by Wednesday December 1, he says.
Luthuli adds: “Furthermore, the Deputy Judge President will allocate the full bench to hear this matter given its importance and public interest.
“We are comforted that the court views this matter as important and urgent.”
The ACDP is supported in its application by Free the Children – Save the Nation, the Caring Health Workers Coalition and the Covid Care Alliance.

The Minister of Health and the medical regulatory authority Sahpra are opposing it.
To date 355 758 children have been vaccinated since vaccination for children commenced in mid October,

With simple statistics proving that vaccinations lower the risk of contracting serious Covid/death, even among teens, who would campaign against vaccinations? Certainly not Christians, who have been given the Holy Spirit of Wisdom and Jesus’ Christ’s priority of Life over Death. While I agree in principle with Hugh Wetmore’s opinion, I must say that the logical implication of his penultimate
sentence is that the ACDP is not a Christian party; and this I find extremely hurtful.
