PEFM 87.6 Christian Community Radio station, together with various church leaders in Nelson Mandela Bay are hosting a third Ascension Day Gathering at 3pm on Thursday May 26 on the Vuyisile Mini Square in front of the Gqeberha (PE) City Hall.

Ascension Day was removed as a public holiday in 1994 but this should not stop the celebration of the Ascension Day, says PEFM in a press release.

“While the main reason for the gathering is to celebrate the Ascension Day of our Lord Jesus Christ, we will also be interceding for the City and praying for rain, for the comfort and provision of the Lord post-pandemic and against the daily challenges of family trauma,” it says.

PEFM started in 2019 with the first Ascension Day Event where about 5 000 people attended. In 2021 the event was slightly smaller due to the pandemic.

“One could still feel the Lord moving and a change in the atmosphere. We are trusting for great
things to come from this year’s Ascension Day Event,” says PEFM.

Entrance to the event is free however Ascension Day stickers are available at R20 as a donation towards the cost of the stage and sound. Stickers are available at the PEFM offices or at various churches and will also be available at the registration table on May 26.

Attendees are reminded to bring your own water. All Covid-19 protocols will be observed.
