PE Jazz lovers can look forward to another touch of sophistication and class with the next edition of the annual ‘The Gospel According to Jazz’ event which will be taking place at Word of Faith Christian Centre in William Moffet on September 26, 2015.
As previously reported in Gateway News, the jazz event will once again raise funds to assist the local children’s ministry, Project Hope, which cares for and feeds over 400 children in the Northern Areas on a weekly basis. Event organiser, Shaun Draai, explains that the organisation hosts four Sunday schools in underprivileged areas every Sunday, where the children are given a warm Sunday lunch – which for most is the only decent meal they would receive for the week. “We once again seek to present this annual music spectacular for young and older music lovers while raising well needed funds to further empower our children in the Nelson Mandela Bay.” The organisation also hosts quarterly camps where young boys and girls are mentored into future leaders and ambassadors for the Kingdom of God.
The 3rd instalment of the Jazz event is titled “The Gospel According to Jazz – Chapter III” and will feature jazz guitar guru, Creshwell October. October, a BAMA Award Winning musician, has shared the stage with the likes of Gloria Bosman, Feya Faku and popular South African jazz maestro, Hugh Masakela .
The Word of Faith Music and Arts Department, led by Worship Director, Manny Eagle, will be leading praise and worship, to set the atmosphere for the rest of the evening. “A host of anointed vocalists and musicians will sing and play down heaven on the night!” Draai excitedly shares.
The Susan Zerbst Ballet Academy is also set to take the stage, adding a classic twist to the evening. “The Susan Zerbst Ballet Academy is guaranteed to receive a standing ovation as they add more class to an already classy evening with some classic dance.”
Draai explains that there is a list of special surprises and performances which is sure to wow the audience. “These are too special to mention right now. But you can have it all on the night.” He explains.
