Galatians 5:22-23 speaks about the fruit of the Spirit.

As we enter into the Christmas and New Year season, the festive season, we really need to exercise the fruit of the Spirit.

This is a time when family meet together. It’s been a long hard year and I know the Lord is very proud of you, how you have managed to be steadfast and you have sustained a lot of pressure, but now you need to exercise the fruit of the Spirit.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.”

But I think two fruits are needed, maybe even more than a lot of the others, especially when it comes to the home situation.

The one is to be kind to one another. Please think before you speak. Don’t say something in a sarcastic manner and then just ignite another problem in the family,

And be gentle with one another. Because a lot of people have been through the mill as they say.

Really exercise the love of Jesus and you will be surprised how peaceful your home and your situation will become.

Jesus was definitely not slow on speaking up but He was always very sensitive in everything He said.

He always had a kind word, an encouraging word to those that He met with. Now and then He had to bring a rebuke, but it was always done in love.

I really want to exhort you, especially if you are a family man, to exercise patience and love and the Lord will help you to do the rest.

Yours in Christ’s service
