Among the past pupils who will be participating in the 200th anniversary celebration of Muir College in Kariega (Uitenhage) next week are three Christian leaders who will lead special services to which the public are invited.
Graeme Smith, a pastor at Hillside Church in Hillcrest, KwaZulu-Natal will be bringing a team to lead a night of worship and freedom in the Muir School Hall together with the Muir and Riebeek College SCAs. The event at the school in in Sir Thomas Muir Drive, Vanes Estate starts at 6.30pm and everybody in the 14 to 25 year old age group is invited to come.
“We’re really looking forward to it. The expectation of the team that’s coming down is over the top. We just know that Jesus is going to touch lives in an incredible way,” said Graeme.
On Sunday old boys Hayden Ownhouse, who leads Elim Church in Kariega, and Robbie Cairncross, a veteran evangelist from Cape Town will lead a Remembrance Day service in the School Hall from 11.30am to 1.30pm. The team from Hillcrest will lead the worship. There will be a spitbraai after the service.

In a Facebook post inviting people to attend the service, Robbie, who will give the main message, says: “I am going to ask two questions there: What is the result of loss? And why is thanksgiving important? You’ll be pleasantly surprised at the answers.”
