Mighty Men Tartan awards for PE pair

Two Port Elizabeth men, who featured in news reports in Gateway News earlier this year were honoured at the weekend when they were presented with Mighty Men Tartan clothing in recognition of their community service.

The stories about petrol attendant Hilton Essau who reaches out to the homeless, and newspaper vendor Ashley Munnick whose joyful demeanour brightens up the day for weary motorists caught the eye of Ina Murison-McGowan of Mighty Men Tartan in Cape Town. She asked Karoo Mighty Men Camp PE representative Lance Walton to present Munnick with a Mighty Men Tartan cap and Essau with a Mighty Men Tartan scarf.

The PE men said they were mightily encouraged by the recognition.
