It has been confirmed that over 30 media houses will live broadcast the Uganda National Prayer Day for Unity among Pentecostal and Evangelical Churches in Uganda on July 31 starting at 11am (EAT).

According to Apostle John Bunjo, the prayer event seeks to “rally all the different umbrella bodies across the spiritual divide to come together and call upon the name of the Lord”. They include BAFFE, NAFBAC, UFFE, PAG, Miracle Centre Churches and other unity organisations of believers.

Running under the theme ‘Gathering the 12 Stones,’ inspired by 1st Kings 18:30-33, Bunjo explained that aside the national prayer events organised by government, God wants Pentecostal and Evangelical Churches in the country to stand as one voice and intercede as it is written in 2 Chronicles 7:14.

“Today, each stone is organising prayer and this is what Jezebel wants (a divided altar) but Elijah brought those stones together so my appeal to us is to heed the call of God,” he said in a statement earlier published by Uganda Christian News.

“My prayer is that all the leaders in your respective capacities adhere to this cause. It’s not a new movement but rather a collection of ‘stones’,” the founder of Christian Restoration Ministries International explained further.

Citing Mark 3:25, Bunjo urged that a “divided Church breeds a divided family and a divided family breeds a divided nation.”

“As we we approach the national prayer day unity, I want to thank all men and women who has contributed to growth of the church. We have come from far with a lot of challenges of a growing church but we are not broken. I respect all our umbrella bodies and all zonal, district and regional elders and pastors forums. It is time to walk along without as brethren. As it happened to the prophets of Baal that they did not mix with Elijah so are we also on 31st, we are uniting with the brethren whom we agree on Jesus Doctrine,” he said.
