Africa Alive cycle team blesses Tonga bible translation team

The Wycliffe Africa Alive cycle team recently handed over a cheque for R118 457.10 to Bishop Josias Mudenda, representing the Tonga bible translation team in Zimbabwe, according to a Wycliffe press release.

The Africa Alive cycle team rode the Telkom 947 Cycle Challenge, November 20 2016 to raise the funds for the Tonga Translation Team.

Bishop Mudenda received the cheque at a special evening held to honour the cyclists, the intercessors who pray for the project and all the people who helped along the way.

Wycliffe Bible Translations have helped people around the world to translate the Bible into their own languages for more than 70 years. Almost one third of the world’s 7 000 languages do not even have one translated verse of God’s Word. They are committed to beginning bible translation work in every language that needs it by 2025.

Wycliffe will enter a team in the Telkom 947 Cycle Challenge for the fifth time this year to ride for a purpose. Their Africa Alive cycle team will be on the road Sunday November 19 2017.
