All things! — Angus Buchan

If we go to the Book of Romans 8:28 (NKJV), the Word of God says, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.”

Sometimes when you and I come to the end of ourselves and we say “there is no hope for me”, that is often the very time that God reveals Himself so magnificently and so gloriously to us. We need to remember one thing which is very important and that is that our Lord Jesus is not controlled by circumstances or controlled by situations, be they political, economical, social, or seasonal.

Covid-19, the coronavirus, is not something that Jesus is subjected to. He is God. Period.

I have seen Him move too often miraculously in my life when I have called upon Him in the past. Jill and I got into our car and we drove all the way down to Namaqualand (Northern Cape), to a little town called Loeriesfontein. We went and saw the Lord Jesus Christ once again in all His majesty and glory.

If anyone doubts the book of Genesis or the story of creation, he must go and see the wildflowers of the Northern Cape. I stand to be corrected, but I believe we have the largest variety of wildflowers on earth right here in our beloved South Africa. We were in an area where some places have had no rain for six years. Not six months or six weeks, but six years. Even my dear wife Jill said it looks so bleak and so empty and so dark and then we came over the rise and there were the flowers. They had come up after one shower of rain. Beauty like I have never before seen in my life, bearing in mind I have had the privilege of travelling the world. Out of stark darkness, we saw the most glorious light.

Yes indeed, all things work together for good to those who love God. My life will never be the same again.

Be encouraged that irrespective of the way things are happening in our world, where unbelievers are running around like chickens with their heads cut off, the followers of Jesus Christ are resting in his faithfulness, knowing that out of these, yes indeed I said it, tragic circumstances, you will see beauty like you’ve never seen before, remembering that He is the same yesterday, today and forevermore (Hebrews 13:8).
