Bible stories reimagined as AI vlogs go viral on TikTok

A new TikTok account is drawing attention for reimagining Bible stories as video blogs.

The account, @holyvlogsz, uses AI to generate biblical characters who speak directly to the camera in a style familiar to YouTube and TikTok audiences.

In one video, David recounts the story of defeating Goliath (1 Samuel 17) as if he were an influencer.

“Asked the guy to film it, but guess what? The camera froze,” he says, eyes wide: “Threw one rock, dude dropped, no proof. Love that for me.” He wraps up by asking viewers to like and comment.

Goliath, meanwhile, offers his perspective: “Morning people, day 40 of standing out here. Still no challenger,” he reports. At one point, he plunges his face into a bowl of ice water — a nod to an influencer’s viral morning routine. During the fight, he briefly pauses to update followers: “Okay, the kid actually knocked me down. What is happening right now? This better not be my last vlog.”

Other familiar biblical figures also make appearances. Daniel vlogs from the lion’s den (Daniel 6), Jonah checks in from inside the whale (Jonah 1–2), and Moses speaks to the camera while parting the Red Sea (Exodus 14). “Guys, the sea literally opened up… I’ll explain later,” he says. “And no, this path isn’t on Google Maps.”

In a more light-hearted clip, Mary announces the birth of Jesus (Luke 2:1-7): “Baby’s first collab? We’ll unbox later.”

The clips are created using Google’s latest AI video tool, Veo 3, which allows for dialogue, realistic lip-syncing, and sound effects.

Since launching just last month, @holyvlogsz has gained over 435 000 followers and millions of views.

The videos have surprised viewers with their lifelike quality. While some view the format as irreverent, many find it compelling. As one user commented: “I hate how much I like it.”
