Big win for Ntokozo Mbambo — and for Kingdom of God!

Ntokozo Mbambo

Ntokozo Mbambo was one of the biggest winners at this year’s South African Music Awards (Samas), winning the three categories that she was nominated for.

She won the Best Female Artist of the Year award, the Contemporary Faith Music Award and the coveted Album of the Year award for her album Lavish Worship.

She was the only woman in the Album of the Year category, among four other nominees, and the only Gospel artist. Winning that award was a major win for the Gospel music industry and for the Kingdom of God.

Ntokozo launched the Lavish Worship album in March in Durban and in Johannesburg, where she was joined by Nathaniel Bassey from Nigeria.

Many believe this album is Ntokozo’s best work. She says that she is thankful to have a partner in her husband who understands the importance of giving God your very best. She says: “We always strive to produce work that is worthy of the God we serve. Something of excellence.”

It is no surprise why the Lavish Worship album has won so many awards. Winning these three awards at the SAMAs is a culmination of what has been an incredible year for Ntokozo. In August she was awarded the best Gospel Artist of the Year at the Basadi in Music Awards.

Basadi in Music Awards celebrates female talent and achievements in the music industry.

Ntokozo has come a long way from being one of the featured artists in Joyous Celebration to being one of the leading gospel artists in Africa.  She has grown in the quality of her work and in her walk with God, something that is evident in her worship and the body of work that she has produced.
