Billboard Names Elevation Worship top Christian act for 2024

Elevation Worship

For the first time ever, Billboard has named Elevation Worship as the Top Christian Artist of the year.

The worship collective’s 2023 album Can You Imagine? topped Billboard’s Christian Album charts, spending 14 weeks at No1. Meanwhile, their hit song Praise led multiple major year-end song charts, and spent 31 weeks at No 1 on the Hot Christian Songs chart of the year.

“We’re blown away by the response to our album and how it’s pointing people to Jesus,” frontman Chris Brown told Billboard. “It’s reminding us that He is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine in and through our lives.”

Elevation Worship also released a new album this year, When Wind Meets Fire. Singer Jonsal Barrientes shared with RELEVANT that the group’s mission was to be a space for people to encounter God, wherever they find themselves.

“Sometimes we will release a song in the hope that God will put it in a space where we would never imagine,” Barrientes said. “And in a world of social media, we pray that it lands exactly where it needs to: in a small city, in a small town, where somebody needs to meet and encounter the Lord.”

Rounding out the top 5 Christian acts of the year were Brandon Lake, Forrest Frank, Lauren Daigle and Anne Wilson.
