Moreleta Park Congregation in Pretoria has called on all South Africans to fast and pray tomorrow (Thursday October 13 2016) for an end to the violence on university campuses and national drought.
In a press release, the leadership of Moreleta Park Congregation asked all South Africans, churches, denominations and communities, to unite on Thursday from 6am to 7pm in fasting and prayer. They called for unified and organised gatherings of corporate prayer across South Africa.
Rev Willem Badenhorst, Spiritual Leader at Moreleta Park Congregation said that most of all “we trust in God alone for revival in the hearts of our country’s people.”
Ps 50:15 Then call on Me when you are in trouble, and I will rescue you, and you will give Me glory.
Building together
The press release continues: “We plead that you build alongside of one another, and trust in God, unified as a country.
Moreleta Park Congregation will host a prayer meeting from 6.30pm in the Yellow Hall (administration building) on the congregation’s premises. All within the community are welcome to attend.
Joel 2:12-13 That is why the Lord says: turn to me now, while there is time. Give me your hearts. Come with fasting, weeping and mourning. Don’t tear your clothing in your grief, but tear your hearts instead. Return to the Lord your God for He is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.”
Areas to pray into
Pray for university campuses:
- for violence and destruction to end
- for peaceful hearts and positive attitudes
- for relevant permanent solutions
Regarding the drought please pray:
- for lavish rain countrywide
- for all agricultural communities
“May we experience a spiritual and personal revival nationwide. God is the God of solutions and peace. Something supernatural always takes place when believers gather to plead their case before God Almighty!”
