New Covenant Ministries International (NCMI) is hosting its first-ever, and one-time only, World Equip on the week of 5 –October in Johannesburg. This is a unique event as churches from over eighty nations and from every South African province will get together to celebrate Jesus, connect, and be equipped to impact our world, influence our cultures, and increase Jesus’ Kingdom’s reach across the globe.
The event will be followed by massive outreaches into the rest of Africa including Zambia, Lesotho, the Great Lakes region, Mozambique, and Zimbabwe; as well as outreaches throughout South Africa (Johannesburg, Midlands, Eastern and Southern Cape). Details of these outreaches and more that are being organised can be found at the website at ncmiequip2015.co.za/outreaches/.
The opening night will be a worship evening with Martin Smith (of the band Delirious?) leading the band. Preachers at the event will include leaders from NCMI partnering churches all over the world as well as Angus Buchan from the annual Mighty Men Conference.
In Ephesians 4:11-13 we see that God gave to the Church apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to “equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” (ESV). The purpose of NCMI’s Equip times is to do exactly this, creating a space for people to be more captivated with Jesus and more equipped to fulfil His mandate of taking His kingdom to every corner of the earth. (Matthew 28:19, 20.)
NCMI hosts Equip times all over the world in many different regions throughout the year. This year, however, these have been suspended to allow for churches all over the world to attend the World Equip.
The conference will start on Monday night at 7pm, followed by day sessions starting at 8am and ending at 4pm every day. Friday will end at 12:30pm. Registration is R450 per person, R100 for teens (13 – 19 years), and R150 per child (3 – 12 years). Facilities and activities for children will be provided for. There are also facilities for feeding moms and parents with children younger than three years.
World Equip will be an English-speaking event but the organisers are making translation facilities available, namely for Zulu, Swahili, French and Portuguese (at the time of writing). Non-English speaking attendees should contact the organisers at ncmiequip2015.co.za/contact-us/ so that there is a better idea on what translation needs may be required.
