Dallas Jenkins and ‘The Chosen’ stand in prayer for Israel

At the K-LOVE awards last week, The Chosen’s creator, Dallas Jenkins, shared the show’s support for the nation of Israel, discussing the inherent Jewish roots of the series.

As Crosswalk noted, Jenkins highlighted the issues facing Israel in the middle of conflict and war.

“There are innocent people in this conflict that’s going on in the Middle East right now. We love and pray for all of them. But the roots of our faith and the roots of our entire lives were birthed in Israel,” Jenkins said.

Jenkins asserted that The Chosen is a Jewish show because our Savior was Jewish.

“To the people of Israel, we stand with you and we kneel for you. We love you,” Jenkins said.

Jenkins has also been pleasantly surprised with the Israeli response to The Chosen.

“One of the really beautiful things about the show that we’ve seen is even in the country of Israel, which would traditionally be a little resistant toward a Jesus show, it is growing rapidly there,” Jenkins said.

Jenkins attributes this success to the honor the show gives toward Jewish customs and traditions.

The Chosen won the K-LOVE award for film impact, outdoing other hits like Sound of Freedom and The Blind. As The Chosen began their livestreaming of season 4 this past Sunday, we can be sure to see even more lives changed through this monumental show.
