The South African Christian Leadership Initiative (Sacli) urges South African voters — especially those who have previously voted for the ANC — to participate in an online election survey aimed at gauging how the Zuma presidency will affect the upcoming local elections.
“Many South Africans are concerned that the State President has violated his oath of office. The Constitutional Court found him guilty of failing to uphold the Constitution. This on top of several hundred charges for which he is yet to appear in a court of law. In recent months, civil society organisations and church groups have called for his resignation. He has not heeded the call to step down, believing that most South Africans are happy with his presidency,” says Rev Moss Ntlha, Chairperson of Sacli and Secretary General of the Evangelical Alliance of South Africa.
