During a long-form interview hosted by Katie Miller covering everything from artificial intelligence to space travel, Elon Musk offered one of his clearest acknowledgments yet of a belief in a divine Creator. The exchange came around the 12-minute mark, as interviewer Katie Miller shifted from lighthearted “get to know you” questions to deeper matters of worldview and faith.
“The Creator,” Musk replied.
Miller pressed further: “What’s your position on God?”
Musk responded again without hesitation: “God is the Creator.”
When Miller pointed out that many people assume he doesn’t believe in God, Musk clarified:
“Well, I believe this universe came from something. People have different labels.”
Though brief, the moment stood out in an interview that otherwise ranged across topics like cryptocurrency, robotics, immigration, and even a near-assassination attempt on Charlie Kirk. The clarity of Musk’s answers — simple, direct, and free of his usual philosophical qualifiers — is drawing renewed attention to his evolving views on faith.
A shift years in the making
Musk has long described himself as questioning, agnostic, or uncertain about traditional religious categories. But in recent years, his language has softened. He has openly discussed accepting Christ’s salvation with Babylon Bee and supported faith-led humanitarian work, and spoken positively about Judeo-Christian moral foundations.
But identifying “The Creator” as the one he looks up to most — and grounding the universe in God’s Creation marks one of the most theistic statements he has made publicly.
Why It matters
Musk remains one of the most influential figures in the world steering global conversations about free speech, artificial intelligence, space colonization, the economy, and the future of human civilization. When someone with that level of cultural impact speaks reverently about God, the ripple effects go far beyond a podcast timestamp.
For many believers, Musk’s answers reflect what Scripture describes as God drawing hearts in His timing sometimes quietly, sometimes unexpectedly.
A moment worth watching
The interview, which spans nearly an hour of humorous anecdotes and philosophical reflections, treats the faith discussion as an important moment. But for millions who follow Musk’s journey, it may prove to be one of the most meaningful.
Whether Musk is on the verge of a fuller embrace of faith or simply acknowledging spiritual reality in his own language, his words — “God is the Creator… this universe came from something” — reveal a man thinking deeply about the origins of existence, and possibly sensing the One behind it.
