Encouraging outreach to moms of Down Syndrome children

About 50 mothers of children with Down Syndrome were pampered and encouraged at a recent mothers’ support day in Bapong Village, Brits initiated by local community stakeholders in recognition of the hard work and emotional toll of parenting special-needs children due to social prejudice.

During the event at Rekgonne-Bapo Special School, TWR Women of Hope regional coordinator for Africa Sphiwe Nxumalo-Ngwenya gave the women gifts including encouraging reading material and portable radios to tune into uplifting TWR radio programmes.

Brits-Hartbeespoort Rotary Club also gave the moms special pamper gifts. Harvest Time Enterprises Marketing and Media company was one of the local stakeholders behind the support day.

Nxumalo-Ngwenya said: “It is the mission of TWR Women of Hope to give hope in Jesus to women around the world and across generations. Your children who are fearfully and wonderfully made are a special gift from God, He also provides with loving ability, and promises to never leave nor forsake. This is our hope. which keeps us going and doing our best. We love because He first loved us. Be encouraged to know that he touches others who care and brings them your way as this event is today part of the expression of His Love.“
