Free Cape Town screening of powerful human trafficking documentary

“One of the most powerful, compelling and transformational documentaries ever made.” Movie Guide

To mark National Women’s Day (Thursday, August 9), Christian Action will be screening a new documentary produced by Exodus Cry, on the global challenge of human trafficking and what we can do to prevent this modern day slave trade and rescue victims.

Nefarious, Merchant of Souls, is a hard-hitting documentary that exposes the disturbing trends in modern sex slavery. From the very first scene, Nefarious ushers you into the nightmare of sex slavery that hundreds of thousands experience daily. You’ll see where slaves are sold (often in developed, affluent countries), where they work, and where they are confined. You’ll hear first-hand interviews with real victims and traffickers, along with expert analysis from international humanitarian leaders.

Travel with Exodus Cry through 19 countries, across four continents, into dingy Cambodian brothels, Thai karaoke bars, Amsterdam’s infamous red-light district, Moldovan orphanages, legal Nevada brothels, and the street corners and alleyways of metropolises worldwide.

From initial recruitment to victim liberation — and everything in between — the previously veiled underworld of sex slavery is uncovered in the ground-breaking, tell-all Nefarious, Merchant of Souls.

The film is sensitively made but does contain some harrowing re-enactments and footage so sensitive viewers should be advised. Accordingly, the film is not suitable for children.

Entrance is free and the screening is at the Christian Action offices in Rondebosch, Cape Town. Please RSVP as space is limited. For directions and to RSVP please contact: Taryn: 021 – 689 4480 or email info@christianaction.org.za.
