God used a Holy Spirit-inspired radio intervention to stop a severe outbreak of Mpox (formerly known as Monkey Pox) in Sierra Leone, says veteran South African-born evangelist Suzanne Pillans in a ministry newsletter.

“From 2nd of May 2025, 1 226 cases of the killer Monkey Pox raged through Sierra Leone. The only treatment was ‘Don’t Touch’ and a three foot distance kept between all people,” she says in the latest newsletter of Suzanne’s Ministry — Step Out in Faith.

The newsletter continues: “Suzanne Pillans speaks on radio almost daily from the UK via WhatsUp. On the 14th of May she felt the Lord lead her to arrange an interdenominational radio Repentance and Holy Communion over radio for the 18th of May and the Lord would deliver the nation from Monkey Pox.

“The people took this seriously and had their bread and juice ready across the nation in all areas of society for the broadcast and the Monkey Pox left immediately.pasted-image.jpeg

“But the three week quarantine was still to be obeyed from the government. Two people, though, decided to disobey this order and they both got monkey pox and died and this was broadcast in the news.

“On hearing this, Suzanne on her next radio talk, spoke that disobedience is sin and the wages of sin is death. ‘You cannot mock God’ she said.

“You must hoour Him with obedience and this means obedience to your government as well, as they try to protect you. She then led them through repentance and the prayer of salvation and there has not been any further cases of monkey pox, now 7th of June.

“As a result Revival has broken out in many places especially in the prisons. A church and a Bible School of Evangelism is now opening in one of the prisons and Bibles and needs have already been sent there.

All glory be given to our mighty God who is still working in miraculous ways.”

A letter [see below], dated May 19, from the director of the Kailahun Correctional Centre in Sierra Leone, Rev Dereck Cole, says that “the power of God greatly manifested” in the prison as they listened to Suzanne’s communion service preaching over the radio and 148 inmates and three senior prison officers received Christ and 21 inmates were miraculously healed.
