God’s unfailing Word — Angus Buchan

In these troubled times, in which we are living, when we are being fed so much information, some of it correct and some of it incorrect, some of it good for us and some of it very damaging for us, we really need to seek the truth and the way.

Early this morning in my daily reading, I was in the start of the Gospel according to John. If we look at John 1:1 (NKJV) it says: “1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.” There is the answer. The Word is of course Jesus Christ and all the answers we need are found in the Bible.

1 John 5:7 (NKJV) says, “7 For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one.” Again, we see the Word is Jesus Christ in print. When someone says to you: “Show me this Jesus you are talking about,” buy them a Bible which will take away all doubt, all confusion from their life.

I don’t know how many times as a young farmer, after I became a committed Christian, did this Book not show me the way. That is why I put on the front cover: “It Is My Agricultural Journal.” Somebody wrote to me, saying: “Don’t be so disrespectful to the Holy Word of God.” I replied: “Madam, I’m not disrespectful. I am telling you the truth. This book has directed all my agricultural decisions and they have always turned out for good, when I obey the Word.”

When it comes to bringing up children, when it comes to choosing a career, when it comes to choosing a life partner, this is the Book that will show you the way. When it comes to direction for your life, this Book will never fail you.

Jesus bless you
