Group hosting 40-day elections prayer and fasting campaign to ‘usher SA into new season’

Gatekeepers South Africa, an organisaton that mobilises NGOs, Christian organisatons and businesses around a vision of rebuilding South Africa according to sound family values, is hosting a 40 days elections prayer and fasting campaign from April 22 to May 31.

At a time in which political observers are saying that the political landscape looks more unpredictable than ever, Gatekeepers says its goal is to usher SA into a new season with prayer.

Lizelle Maurice of Gatekeepers SA told Gateway News that her goal is to invite 40 prominent SA Christian leaders to lead daily corporate prayer sessions from 12pm to 1pm throughout the campaign which ends two days after the May 29 general election. Leaders who have already committed to the campaign include Pastor John Mathuhle, Prof Gerrie Bester and Pastor Amanda le Roux.

Campaign participants will be asked to join in a 40 days Daniel fast. Watch the Gatekeepers South Africa Facebook page for more details.
