Head of my house — Angus Buchan

Let us look at the Word of God in the book of Hebrews chapter 3, verse 6 (NKJV) — “But Christ, as a Son over His own house, whose house we are, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope to the end.”

Whose house are you living in at present? Are you living in the house of self — the house of doing it my way? Oh, I’ve had a house like that as well — it never ever seems to be completed, its always falling apart. Or are you a member of the house of our beloved Lord Jesus Christ?

Remember Joshua said in Joshua 24:15 (NKJV) — “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

I want to say to you that as of the 18^th February 1979, which is over 40 years ago, I have been living in the house of the Lord Jesus Christ. He has been completely in control of my home and my family. No, we haven’t always got it right, but we are in the right home for the first time in our lives.

When I look at what is happening in the Middle East, I see the carnage, the murder, the brutality, it shakes me to the core. We see the devil in full evil and hatred and bitterness and anger. People literally slaughtering each other, on both sides. My heart goes out to the woman and children and the men who are running to and fro carrying their dead children with them, wailing, travailing, Jew and Palestinian alike. The ordinary citizen of the country being subjected to horror, like has never been seen before.

You and I need to get into the house of God. My heart is for the lost Jew and Palestinian alike, who have never met Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. That is my main concern. This life is very brief and then we will either live in the house which was built by God or we will be lost to eternal damnation with the devil and all his hordes of demons.

I really want to exhort you today to make sure that you are living in the right street and in the right home, because Jesus is coming back very soon.
