Vuyokazi Matu, who leads a parliamentary intercessory team, today extended an invitation to anybody interested in joining the team on a nine-day period of worship, prayer and fasting from today (Tuesday September 1) to Wedenesday September 9.
She says the call to this time of pressing in to God was prompted by a dream on August 28 in which a child of God’s tears of anguish turned into tears of joy as she transitioned from the memory of a long, painful struggle to a great breakthrough whereby Jesus had permanently cut off a yoke of oppression in her life.
In a prayer guide she says that on waking from the dream she knew it was a call to worship, prayer and fasting. This was confirmed when another parliamentary intercessor sent her a description of a similar dream. Both dreams are described in the prayer guide.
In the guide Matu also suggests possible fasting schedules — and emphasises that participants should feel free to adopt a fasting plan that matches their unique circumstances.
The guide also lists key prayer points for each day, with comprehensive notes which build on an overall theme for the nine days of allowing the Lord to renew our minds in this season in order to see what He sees.
The key prayer point headings are:
Day 1. Laying aside the SIN (habitual sin) that so easily entangles.
Day 2. Praying for a posture of humility and a changed heart. (maturity)
Day 3. Rejecting and dismissing busyness, the enemy of fruitfulness.
Day 4. Praying for unity and oneness in the Body of Christ.
Day 5. Divine positioning of the children of God. Divine intervention. Alignment with purpose. Physical manifestation.
Day 6. Praying for the peace of Jerusalem.
Day 7. Praying for the manifestation of prophetic words over South Africa
Day 8. Breaking the spirit of delay and removing blockages at the edge of breakthrough.
Day 9. Miracles of deliverance. Walking by faith that moves mountains.
