And just like that it is the end of January! How did that even happen? Only 11 months left to make 2026 count. It is scary how quickly time flies and that is why we need to be very intentional with our time.
God highlights 3 things
2026 started off with the Lord reminding me of three things for 2026.
To be a Christian has become very complicated. You must this and you must that and if you do not do this then that will not happen and so on. I always want to ask people who live their lives like this: “How capable and big do you think God is”? For if He needs you to do or be certain things before He can be God, then He is not God. If you have to fast five days before you can ask Him something “big” then you earn that big thing. And with God it is about sonship. By all means fast five days if you want to, it is sooooo good for you, but not to earn something “big” to happen.

He is a Father. A father who gave His only son to die for you!! He did not ask anything of you then, why would you think He wants something now? And I am not talking biblical principles we follow, like the fruit of the Spirit or putting on His full armour, I am talking all these things we think we must do before He can love us, bless is, save us, forgive us, help us, heal us.
Stop. Go back to the basics. Love Him. Believe Him. Trust Him. Know what Jesus did on the cross and in His resurrection and live in that fullness and authority. If it becomes too difficult to serve God, you are busy with religion.
The other day I heard someone say that only their pastor can stand before God. They cannot enter the throne room as ordinary people. I nearly caught a fit. This is the core of our belief — that through Jesus, we have the right to approach our Father. And so sorry to burst your bubble, friend, but your pastor is JUST LIKE YOU, also just an ordinary person. If you come across these things, run.
Just the basics, and you find all of it in the Bible. Believe that He is who HE says He is.
The second thing the Lord told me: Ask
We receive not, because we ask not, and I have seen this over and over in my life. The moment I start asking the Lord for the things I need and want, be it wisdom, healing, salvation of others, favour for or from someone, provision, spiritual breakthrough, whatever — the moment I ask, things begin to happen. And NEVER, NEVER tell Him how to be God. You will miss out on the most beautiful testimonies. Let Him be God and do the God things. If you can think it, it is not very godly. He can do far above and beyond what we can even imagine. All you need to do is ask and the burden of how is His.
So ask for wisdom, ask for blueprints From Heaven, ask for godly opportunities, ask for godly connections, and see what happens. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things shall be added unto you. When you have these types of conversations with Him — relationship conversations — things happen. People usually ask for “things”. More money, bigger car, house, new job. Change those prayers and ask for His opportunities, His connections, His blueprints, and these type of things start following. Goodness and mercy will follow YOU, not YOU will follow goodness and mercy.
So start asking the right things and see how goodness and mercy start following you.
And the last thing he said: Follow My lead
Deception is one of our biggest threats in the day and age we live in. If it is possible, even the elect will be deceived. Never make the mistake of thinking you are above that. He who thinks that He is standing strong, be careful not to fall. (1 Corinthians 10:12) . So to follow the voice of the Holy Spirit, follow the principles of Jesus and live the Word (as HE is the Word); that is how you follow His lead. He will show you every step of the way if you allow Him. It is, unfortunately, your choice. But if you allow — what an adventure with God!
So, do not think I am preaching to you. I am reminding myself in as much as I am reminding you, because let’s face it — times are totally different. War is on our doorsteps, AI is real, nature is going berserk all over, lawlessness is the new normal, being Christian is not okay anymore in many countries, and, and, and.
So friends, brothers and sisters, no time for fancy religions. The basics. The Gospel of Jesus Christ preached by Jesus, Paul and all the other apostles. This is your standard and all of it you find in His Word. And then you have the Holy Spirit, the one Jesus called the Spirit of Truth. No deception in Him.
You do not have to wear a suit when you want to pray. You do not have to confess all your sins before you cry out to Him. He is bigger than all of this. He is after your heart!!
Let us do what our hand finds to do in 2026; trust Him to go before us and just love and follow Him in humility, changing the world as He leads, step by step, and different for each and every one of us.
I ASKED at the beginning of the year. God is sending me on a trip to the Northern parts of Namibia with a very specific mandate, but for that, I need a 4×4 (which I do not have). So, I asked Him. We had decided that my 41-year-old son, Leo, should accompany me on the trip and the sleeping arrangements then became a challenge. But God knows it all. I just asked Him to go before us. Long story short, I get a call from a gentleman telling me that he would like to sponsor me a 4×4 for my Namibia trip. Just like that. Out of the blue. It is a rental I can pick up, and what does it have? Two rooftop tents. One for me and one for my son. I never even thought of such a possibility. But when I write you again, we will be in the middle of our trip, in our God-sponsored 4×4, spreading the Gospel of good news.
Anything is possible with God. Believe like a child (back to basics), ask and then follow His lead. So simple. And the magnificent thing of all of this — you have then absolutely done nothing and God can receive all the glory.
May your 2026 be filled with God moments, God surprises, God encounters and just time with Him. Within that lies everything else. Everything else.
Let us renew our relationship with Him and make Him our priority. All the rest will fall in place as they should, even when the challenges come. But then we are not alone.
