A monthly column in which Julita Kok shares on living adventurously with God
I love being on an adventure with God. I plan as best I can, always leaving room for the Holy Spirit and always, but always, He changes my itinerary. But do not be fooled, I am not complaining. These sudden
changes are what makes for godly adventures as He sure knows best. On this latest Namibian trip, God changed my schedule six times already, but boy oh boy, are these God changes. To me, it is always about the godly connections and the God opportunities. He makes sure I get plenty of these on such a trip.

I am writing you from a farm between Grootfontein and Rundu in the North of Namibia, have never met these farmers, first time I am here, but when God connects, it is as if we have always known each other. That is the God way. So let me start from the beginning.
In the beginning of 2026, God told me to go to Namibia to retrace my footsteps in the North. I was in this area in 2021 and had never been back. So, to be here now is amazing.
I also felt the Holy Spirit say to take my son along, and that was a God idea for sure. Leo has been a tremendous help to me. Another thing which happened was a gentleman telling me the Lord told him to sponsor me a 4×4 with two rooftop tents. At the time I thought it too much, but where I am tonight, oh my, am I thankful for a God who knows it all.
The roads here in the North are currently hectic as it has been raining cats and dogs. My car would have never been able to do it, so the 4×4 truly is a God send. Such a good Father our God.

And having Leo with me, I do not have to pitch the tents or pull them down. I cook and clean and Leo is on tent duty, thank God. I am 61 years old, do not want to do that anymore. Hehehe. Leo has been working hard, hehehe, but he has not complained. In fact, he is enjoying being used by God. So fulfilling.

Since the moment we started the trip, we could see God’s hand upon us. We ministered every single day. We started with 15 women in Rawsonville, then farmers in Eendekuil and people from Citrusdal. Then we visited Aroab and its farmers in the South of Namibia travelling to Windhoek and visiting people along the way. And so we continued to Otjiwirango and onwards. Even went through Etosha to get where we are now. But to see God at work is truly something humbling and amazing. We have helped people who hate their parents, people with cancer, depression, court cases, financial struggles, relationships, life choices, spiritual challenges, hardships, drought, addiction and so forth. And to see how the Holy Spirit leads us, is simply very amazing. He goes before us always.
When we ministered to the grown up sons of a farmer who truly despise their father, I could actually feel the pain of them all. But Jesus is in the restoration business. People are His heart, and to restore and
heal is what He wants to do. To witness such healing is humbling beyond. To sit with someone who received a death sentence and bring them hope, is to receive hope yourself.
What does bother me though, is the enormous challenges these children of God are facing. He never said it would be easy, but it is hard for me to see how many of God’s children are currently struggling, just with life it seems. Depression, finances, relationships, illnesses… endless things. It is not suppose to be like this and yet, here we are, experiencing this among God’s children. So to me, this journey is also about what God is saying about all of it, and what my role is in all of it. I do not always have answers, but I can bring hope as Christ is our hope and it never fails.
On these trips, I always change. Something changes. I cannot always tell you what, but it changes me. The biggest thing is always to see how God loves His children. This is a beautiful, beautiful thing to witness. How He restores families, gives wisdom to make decisions, love to forgive others and hope where there seems to be none, and even healings. This is truly wonderful… when He heals someone.
And then there are those who make the choice for the first time to accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour. I will tell you… these are miracle moments. Miracle moments. What joy it brings my heart to see a soul changed.
I thank God for Leo. People simply love his gentle spirit. He is not like me, but we work well together as each make room for the other and allow the Holy Spirit, the SPIRIT OF TRUTH, to lead us. I feel blessed to be able to minister with Leo and see how he steps into what God has called him for. It is his 42nd birthday on the 28th of February and yet, here he is on this trip, with the blessing of his family. His heart is to do what God has called him for.

Friends, may I ask you to just be kind to one another and love those around you. If I see all the hurt people experience, it must deeply sadden the Father’s heart. And people do this to other people. Let us just be kind. Think before you say something and bless others often. Just be kind. This will change the lives of many.
So here we are, halfway through our Namibia trip, experiencing His love. We are now in Bushmanland and I brought Bibles and audio bibles for the San people to help with hearing the Gospel of Jesus. Excited to visit many San people. They have huge challenges.
So, please pray for us. We need wisdom and the Holy Spirit to move with us and we also need provision, but I must be honest, God has never ever, to this day, failed me. The moment I think we are stuck, God shows up. How safe are we when in His care. I love Him.
May I leave you with this beautiful scripture, Romans 15:13: May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
