KINGdom “Manne” Men’s Camp in PE next Saturday

menscamp2014Men – be sure to mark your calendars for an upcoming Men’s Camping Weekend on November 1 to 2, 2014, which you won’t want to miss.

“A fire-starter on our doorstep, to encourage men spiritually,” is how the event has been described by coordinator, Andrew Auld, who leads a Friday morning mens prayer group known as KINGdom “Manne”.

He added: “We want to explore the theme of forging a Godly character. What makes a KINGdom man? Who are we modelling and why? We are trusting that this will be a time of equipping. We have found that there is a thrusting forward into the things God has purposed for us men when we gather together at men’s camps.”

Camping out in the open on a beautiful farm along Kraggakamma Road, Port Elizabeth, the event organisers are hoping hundreds of men will come and grow stronger in their walk with the Lord and in their friendships with one another.

The idea was birthed by Peter Dawson who is part the KINGdom “Manne” mens group. This men’s group is mainly drawn from The Storehouse Church in Lorraine and the NG Kraggakamma Church in Sunridge. It is an interdenominational, multiracial men’s group. The Human Hearts Ministry, which is linked to the NG Kraggakamma, and who lead a Saturday morning men’s prayer group, are co-organisers of the camp.

“We love that the men who are attending are coming from all corners of our city and from a number of churches. We are encouraging the guys to invite friends and colleagues. Some of us have had the privilege of being able to attend the Mighty Men camps and to have the opportunity to attend a men’s camp without travelling out of PE makes this a very accessible camp for us all.”

Some men do not have camping gear and so the organisers have made arrangements for tents to be made available to accommodate as many men as possible. Please contact them in this regard, as this should not prevent you from attending.  It is also possible to attend as a day visitor for the Saturday sessions.

Some of the men will be camping over from the Friday night already, but the official gathering time is 12pm on Saturday. The first session will start after lunch at about 13h45 and the day should draw to a close by about 8:30pm.

The official closing time is 8:30am on the Sunday to enable men to attend their local church services, but those wishing to remain in the morning for fellowship and ministering time may do so.

The guest speakers include Afrika Mhlophe, a regular speaker at the Karoo Mighty Men Conference.

There is no cost of attending the camp, but donations are welcome and the proceeds will go towards a mattress project for the MES Shelter in Port Elizabeth.

Men who would like to be there are asked to make contact with Andrew Auld via sms at 082 495 2709 or e-mail to aulda@aforbes.co.za to confirm attendance for catering purposes by Wednesday, October 29.

I will not be able to attend as my son(Menno) & I will be flying Angus Buchan to EL as he will be talking on TBN on the 4th Nov..and then we fly back for “Grass Roots” next morning…PLEASE pray for this as Angus says there is BIG things going to happen on TBN. I will be praying for YOUR GET TOGETHER with Jesus…may the MEN attending be “SURPRISED” by what God is going to do to them(if they are WILLING) at this meeting. Bless you, Charlie Parsons(Organiser of Karoo Mighty Men for Port Alfred)
