Knowing the will of God

[notice]A monthly column by farmer, preacher and writer  for Jesus, Angus Buchan[/notice]

If we look at Philippians 2:13 (NKJV), we read: “for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” Jesus, who is working in us, makes us understand His will. A very famous man of God by the name of Thomas Aquinas said: “A man’s heart is right when he wills what God wills.” So when we start to think and to act according to the heart of God then we start to succeed in every area, because God will be with us every step of the way transforming us from the inside out. Our work is not just our agenda but His agenda as well. If that is the case in your life, my dear friend, then Jesus guarantees that you will see it through.

If your will is God’s will, then God has a holy agenda in shaping your life. So we need to say:“Lord, we are more than available to allow You to change our lives.” Colossians 1:27b (NKJV) “…Christ in you, the hope of glory.” So it’s not us, but it is Christ in me. He will give us the burden for lost souls. He will give us direction so we don’t waste our time. He will give us fulfilment in our lives so that we do not get depressed and anxious, because it is Him in us that is doing the work.

The greatest compliment that anyone can give to anybody is to say: “I see Jesus in you.” There is no greater compliment.

So may God bless you as you continue to hear from Him and make sure that your will is what God wills.
