Looking forward to our Heavenly home

[notice]A monthly column by farmer, preacher and writer  for Jesus, Angus Buchan[/notice]

If we look at The Word of God as written in 2 Corinthians 4:18 (NKJV) “While we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

Like never before in our beloved country of South Africa we need to continue to walk by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7). We need to look at those things that aren’t as if they were, moving forward to the crown which is waiting for us in Heaven and looking to the future When we get to Heaven there will be no more sin, no more sickness, no more arguments, no more misunderstandings and our bodies will be made perfect.

Trust God
The thought of the future will relieve the darkness of the past. It will also relieve the gloom of the present. We need to look forward to our Heavenly home. Christian, we are merely sojourners in a foreign land. This is not our home! The joys of Heaven will compensate for the sorrows of the present. Very soon we shall be there, this life is but a vapour. It is very temporal and it is so brief. Don’t spend so much time building your empire on earth when your Father has got a mansion prepared for you in Heaven already. Our eternal home is very near and that will encourage you to continue to trust God for every single thing that He has prepared for you

When I get up in the morning I look out my window and I see not a cloud in the sky. I see it is dry, that the dams are empty, that the cattle are looking for food, and I can quite easily despair, but then I remember this is not my home. I must do my best and God will undertake for me, but ultimately I must prepare myself for my Heavenly home where all my loved ones have gone before me. A place where there will be no more fighting, no more pain, no more anger, no more thieving, no more murder, but the Lord says to us, in the meantime we need to fight the good fight, and we need to run the race for the finish line. My dear friend, the end is nearer than you think.

May God bless you in Jesus name.
