Lukewarm — Angus Buchan

Hope

I learnt many years ago as a young man, that if I was not going forward, I was definitely slipping backwards. There is no such thing as being in neutral. You are either expanding or your losing ground. The Word of God in Revelation 3:16 (NKJV), reads: “So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.”

Strong words! We must do business till He comes. That is the mandate from the Lord Jesus Christ. We cannot afford to sit on the fence. Not least of all because it is extremely uncomfortable. In modern day rugby “if you don’t use it then you lose it” as the saying goes. You got involved, you cannot hang around the edges. I know that from personal experience, that’s when you normally get hurt. We need to get proactive in our family and in our country and in our businesses. We need to be producing food, we need to be building up the nation and then we need to leave the outcome to the Lord. God has promised us He will never leave us nor forsake us. We read in Hebrews 13:5 (NKJV) : “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
So we need to keep on keeping on for Jesus.

I firmly believe that the best is yet to come for those who are positive in their outlook and who trust the Lord Jesus Christ in every circumstance.

Think of the parable of the talents (money). How one of the servants simply buried the talent his master had given him. When the master returned he was angry that the man had not put it to good use by investing it. The master took the talent away and gave it to the servant who had increased his money. God blesses those who use what He gives them. Those who are too fearful to go ahead in faith will lose even that which they already have.

Jesus bless you
