Naomi Raine

American Christian Gospel singer, songwriter, and worship leader Naomi Raine from the award -winning collective Maverick City will be ministering at Rhema Bible Church, Randburg on Saturday.

This is Naiomi’s first visit to South Africa and she is excited to connect with fellow believers. In a recent Instagram Live post Raine she shared: “Hey South Africa, it is Naomi. I’m so excited because on 1 April, I am coming to South Africa for the very first time. I want you to come out for a night of praise and worship with me at Rhema Bible Church.”

Naomi is known for leading popular Maverick City songs such as Jireh, Wait on You, The Story I’ll Tell, I am Loved; Million Little Miracles and Promises among others.

Maverick City Music is an American contemporary worship music collective and record label founded by Tony Brown and Jonathan Jay, originating from Atlanta, Georgia. The collective made its debut in 2019 with the release of two extended plays, Maverick City, Vol. 1 and Maverick City, Vol. 2.

In their short time in the music industry the collective has become an influential entity that has introduced a fresh sound loved by many all over the world. Their achievements include winning five Grammy Awards, four GMA Dove Awards, one Billboard Music Award, and one Soul Train Music Award. At this year’s Grammy Awards Maverick City won four categories, namely: Best Gospel Album, Best Contemporary Christian Music Album, Best Gospel Performance/Song, and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song.

Naomi Raine made her debut with Maverick City Music in 2019. Born in New York on April 9 1987 to Lawrence and Marissa Felder, Naomi carried the torch passed down by her parents to spread the Gospel through song.

Standing on the word spoken over her parents that “their seed would bless the earth,” she has traveled to many places sharing the message of Jesus Christ to thousands of people. At the age of two, she sang in her first concert and by the age of seven, she had already written her first song. Naomi uses the gifts and talents that God has given her to bring God glory wherever she goes.

On July 8 last year she released her solo album Journey: Acoustic Sessions through TRIBL Records. Journey consists of 15 songs produced by Naomi with G. Morris Coleman. In Journey Naomi ministers on real-life issues such as motherhood, marriage, faith and mental health.

Journey has been the soundtrack of my life. These songs are so special to me that I just couldn’t let it go so I decided to sing a few of the songs from a different space. I hope this project pulls you just a little further down the road I’ve travelled with Jesus, and I pray it inspires you and your journey with Him too!”

Whether songwriting, singing, or playing the guitar, she has always found it easiest to communicate to people through lyrics and melodies. Her desire to see the Body of Christ united and empowered fuels her drive to make music that inspires others to worship God. This is evident in her first viral single, Pour Me Out, which gave language to a young audience desiring to live a surrendered life. Since then, Naomi has kept this message relevant through every project, including her recording, Back to Eden – parts 1 and 2. Her latest single released on March 17, One Name (Jesus) was recorded live in New York City. It is the first single from her new album, Cover the Earth.

Naomi is a down-to-earth, fun-loving, wife and mom of three — Apryl, Kayden, and Savion. When she isn’t busy being a secret chef, she serves as a worship pastor at Fresh Start Christian Center in Mount Vernon, New York nurturing the gifts in others through her indie record label, The Bridge Collective.

Naomi is passionate about making space for other creatives with similar goals. Whether that be through mentorship or friendship, her commitment is to help their vision become a reality.

Her greatest desire is that God would be glorified — not just through her music, but through her everyday life.

In her One Name she has managed to paint a picture of her life and ministry. She says:
“I owe it all, all to Jesus
All – every part of me
Lying at His feet
I owe it all,
let every breath I take
Rise to bring Him praise
To the glory of ONE name,
Jesus

Join Naomi Raine, with her supporting acts Brenden Praise and KingDMusic will minister at Rhema Church from 6pm on Saturday April 1. She will be worshipping the Father leading the masses in proclaiming Jesus as the One Name that deserves all the glory.

The event is organised by Christocentric Worship, a lifestyle brand founded in 2015, with a keen focus on developing and promoting Gospel music. Samuel Monyake, Managing Director of Christocentric Worship says: “This is the first time a member of Maverick City comes to South Africa. So, this is a thrilling confirmation for Gospel music followers and Maverick City fans.”
