In this podcast with Ethan Black, Pastor Gilleam van Zyl shares how his walk with Jesus started soon after a man who worked for him told him twice in one day not to wait like Jonah to be swallowed by a fish but to change his ways “now”. Because of brokenness going back to his difficult childhood, he responded aggressively to the persistent employee. But that night he read the Bible and the next Sunday he visited a church where the pastor said: “There is a man here who must not wait like Jonah to be swallowed like a fish — his time is now. Two years later, Gilleam answered a call to the ministry. During his chat with Ethan he called on believers to stop living double lives — one thing on Sunday and another during the rest of the week. The next generation is watching and falling away because of fake Christianity, he said. Jesus did not only come to redeem us, but to also to restore us.
