Synopsis:
A group of unlikely characters come together to do the stage play of their lives. Under the lead of the faithful and dreamful Piet, this group consisting of elders from the old age home needs to find a way to not only put together and act out this play, but to get past the all controlling Sara, who runs the old age home with an iron fist. It is a classic story of the value of each individual person and how even the least expected person can truly contribute to a team. Rich in its humour and old age home story details, this story touches not only the elder of our society — but indeed all to understand and appreciate those we come from and the value they indeed do have. Bringing life to what is seen as old bones, award winning director and writer Desmond Denton has initiated this film.
Review by Rudolph Faurie:
(worked on films such as Tombraider, Resident Evil amongst others)
Mag ek net so stout soos Gawie wees.

X-MEN: APOCALYPSE
Movie Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jer8XjMrUB4
PG13 – NOT RECOMMENDED FOR FAMILIES
Synopsis:
Since the dawn of civilisation, he was worshiped as a god. Apocalypse, the first and most powerful mutant from Marvel’s X-Men universe, amassed the powers of many other mutants, becoming immortal and invincible. Upon awakening after thousands of years, he is disillusioned with the world as he finds it and recruits a team of powerful mutants, including a disheartened Magneto, to cleanse mankind and create a new world order, over which he will reign. As the fate of the Earth hangs in the balance, Raven, with the help of Professor X, must lead a team of young X-Men to stop their greatest nemesis and save mankind from complete destruction.
Dove Review:
X-Men: Apocalypse is an explosive, action-packed adventure, the latest addition to the X-Men series of films. It features a powerful villain, En Sabah Nur (Oscar Isaac), and he is the mutants’ greatest challenge. Due to a tragic event, Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) and the other mutants must prevent Magneto (Michael Fassbender) from helping Apocalypse take control of Charles’ (James McAvoy) mind, by which he can control them all. Apocalypse plans to utterly possess Charles. The Beast and Jean Grey, as well as Wolverine himself (Hugh Jackman), all contribute to the effort to stop Apocalypse.
The film is filled with stirring action, comedic moments, and an emphasis on loyalty to family and friends. Regrettably, it features strong language and violence and, therefore, falls short of receiving our Dove “Family-Approved” Seal. — www.dove.org
