Cape Town: “It is extremely satisfying when our students refer to our institution as ‘My Cornerstone’” says Cornerstone Director Tony Georgiou. Here at Cornerstone, we pride ourselves on the sense of community. Our single biggest goal is to inspire students to reach their full potential, academically, socially and spiritually.
Cornerstone has been enabling South Africans to change the world since 1970 and has a rich history of alumni. More than that, Cornerstone is a community – a place where students find themselves and their purpose.
“Cornerstone has allowed me to grow spiritually, mentally, and emotionally. It facilitated me to become more in touch with who I am. I have clarity in knowing what I want to do with my life, as God continues to develop my character and reveal His plan for me.” – Jean-Pierre Smit, Bachelors of Arts Psychology.
Bringing down the cost of quality higher education
Many parents may feel perturbed when it comes to their child’s education. It can be absurdly expensive to send your child to a university in another city or town. For this reason Cornerstone Institute launched higher education learning communities all over South Africa with the latest Cornerstone Learning Communities (CLC’s) in Barberton, Edendale and Malmesbury.
The programmes that Cornerstone provides are fully accredited by the Council on Higher Education. These programs include Business Leadership, Interior Design, Teacher Training, Sociology, Community Development, Theology, Fine Arts and Psychology.
Using technology to redesign education
Utilising technology to redesign education is what you will experience at the CLC’s where you study via state-of-the-art technology whilst appreciating a campus-like experience. More significant is that students receive a holistic education where head, hands and hearts are equipped through academic, internship, character development and spiritual formation programmes.
As a student at a Cornerstone Learning Community students registering in 2014 also automatically qualify for a 10% bursary.
